Soon Lee Yeap is the Executive Vice President of Oppstar Technology, Malaysia’s first publicly listed IC design house. With over 30 years of experience in semiconductor engineering—most notably at Intel Malaysia—he brings deep expertise across the full silicon lifecycle, from product definition and architecture to final sign-off. His specialization in SoC and system-level validation spans both pre- and post-silicon domains, with a strong focus on secure, high-performance design. Soon Lee is a driving force behind Malaysia’s emergence as a regional hub for advanced IC design and emulation services. At Oppstar, he leads strategic initiatives that integrate hardware-software co-development, cross-border partnerships, and technical workforce enablement. His current efforts include launching emulation-as-a-service platforms, and mentoring engineering teams in cutting-edge validation methodologies.
